Attorney Christopher A. Maruca is originally from the Washington D.C. area and is a graduate of Bishop McNamara High School in Forestville, Maryland. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts where he also received numerous awards as a linebacker for the Holy Cross Crusaders. Attorney Maruca received his Juris Doctor from Duquesne University.

After graduating from college, Attorney Maruca worked in Annapolis, Maryland in the State Capital Building as an aide to Senator Michael Miller, and was later hired as a paralegal at the law firm of Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner in Washington, D.C. While in law school, Attorney Maruca obtained a clerkship with the law firm of Meyer, Unkovic, and Scott in Pittsburgh, where he worked full time while attending law school at night. Following law school, Attorney Maruca was hired as an associate attorney with this same firm. Attorney Maruca received his license to practice law for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in 1996 and the State of Ohio in 1998. He joined the law firm of Betras, Maruca, & Kopp as the managing attorney in 1998, and he is currently a partner and head of the Domestic Relations practice.

Attorney Maruca currently practices primarily in the areas of domestic relations and juvenile law. He has represented the interests of children and families in matters involving divorce, dissolution, legal separation, custody, child support, spousal support, children's rights, antenuptial agreements, pre-divorce/dissolution legal counseling, adoptions, paternity, domestic violence, child abduction, grandparents/third party custody and visitation, neglect actions, abuse actions, and dependency actions in Ohio. Typically, his representation extends to three counties in Ohio -- Mahoning, Trumbull, and Columbiana Counties (with offices in all three counties) -- but upon request he has represented families in such matters in other counties in Ohio, such as Portage, Jefferson, Summit, Medina and Carroll.

Attorney Maruca is a member of the American Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association, Mahoning County Bar Association, and Trumbull County Bar Association. He is regularly featured on 570WKBN talk radio on the weekly show "Legally Speaking," where he discusses family law and children's law issues. Attorney Maruca resides in Poland with his wife, Attorney Susan Gaetano Maruca and their children James Paul, and Christina Elizabeth.
